can learn all about Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and how they affect those
individuals on the Spectrum.

IS AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH!
So….what is the Autism Spectrum? It’s just that. A SPECTRUM. It is a variety of unique
characteristics and challenges a person faces. No two people with Autism will share
the exact same characteristics. Even
twins on the Spectrum have different traits! This is why every person with Autism
should be treated as a unique individual.
Throughout this site you will
see the terms Autism, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and “on the Spectrum”
used interchangeably. There
are unique forms of ASD, and you can find more information on the individual
types of Autism on the Terminology page. However, as a basic overview, we will
simplify the implications of the disorder with these broader terms.
