Life is Good

Another blurb by one of my students.  I think I am going to let this one stand on it's own.

"When I was eleven months old, my father died in a car accident.   He was t-boned by another car, and he wasn't wearing a seat belt.   I never got to know my father.   My situation in life gets more complicated than that, though, because I also have ADHD and Autism.   I was diagnosed in the sixth grade.   Even though my situation has been complicated, it doesn't make my life any harder than anyone else's.   In fact, being Autistic has it's rewards.  For example, I have learned to be myself, I'm not too self-conscious, and I don't really care what others think of me, as long as I know I am happy and a good person.   Also, sometimes I am better at games and things because of my Autism. Life is good." - Social Skills Student
